Found this really cool compilation of gunbarrel previews from James Bond movies from 1962-2008. Its interesting to see how the music changed each time and the direction of the gunbarrel after the shot. After 1989 the music changed dramatically and after 1995 the holder of the gun finally fell on the left side. 2002 we finally see the bullet . Casino Royale - totally out of line. And my favourite would be Quantum of Solace, 2008 - sleek gunbarrel, clear and fast move and the hole turns into a Q of beautiful Quantum of Solace logo. Ta da!

Constructivism trend
I believe that with the events in the middle east, the russian constructivism movement might revive and take a new form:
The Russian Revolution occurred in 1917. The workers and peasants seized power from Czar Nicholas II. The new Russia was not a dictatorial regime like Nazi Germany, at least not in the beginning. This was a Communist revolution, a people’s revolution. Ordinary people seized power from the royal family and tried to create a workers’ paradise where wealth would be shared equally. Design was reinterpreted within this new ideology.
Listen to this. Doesn't it remind anything?
I believe the new trend will be born soon. In textiles, design and art.

Oscar or no Oscar
Today me decided to check out the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2011 collection on style.com , widely covered by the press around the world. Seems its getting its popularity in Russia as first time i've seen the collection on some russian websites.
I really started to like the brand after two internships I did for Spring 2010 and Pre Fall 2011. The apparel is amazing work, great embroidery, wonderful colors and always feminine and elegant .
I don't speak fashion language so far so I will make it short.
So Few things i likes. The black and white ikat print. The green .
The electric dress . The red bracelet.
I really prefer Prefall collcetion espesially open back sweters (reversed cardigans) , bright green and bright pink .
Ta da.

What shocked me were the models. Where all the good looking ones already gone to Paris ? Really ugly.

Infographical anna
This semester i signed up for Design 4 class dedicated to Infographics, visualizations of informational data. it looked amazing and the work on building up your own infograph seemed exciting. After 4 classes of looking of dozens of bad/good infographs, reviewing Tufte's The Visual Display of Quantitative Information and learning what can be called infograph, I think i started to like excel tables!
Now browsing the web to order to find an infograph for redesign as a homework. I wonder how I am going to do that having experience only in Photoshop and only for retouching photographs.
Illustrator for Dummies, here we go.
Pencils&mark pens, haven't seen you guys seen school.
So far my favourite ( maybe because of patriotic feelings as well ) from Tufte's book:
Napoleon's failed campaign in Russia, showing the number of people in the army on the way to Moscow (beige) and the number on the way back (black). I think this type of infographs are my favourite, as the line shows as well the quantity (by its changing width), the length of the road and the geography.
happy searching to me.
